Robert G. James, Jr.

ROBERT G. JAMES, JR., PARTNER
E-mail: rgj@bjrlegal.com
Attorney Bob James has been working for more than 15 years to help clients who have suffered losses and injuries. A lifetime resident of Hamilton County, Indiana, he received his undergraduate degree from DePauw University in 1986 and his law degree from Indiana University in 1992.

While working toward his law degree, he was employed by United Farm Bureau Insurance initially in the Claims Department and then later as a consultant to the Legal Division. This first-hand experience in dealing with insurance losses and with individuals who suffered injuries provided Bob with invaluable insight in representing persons with losses since going into private practice.

His practice focuses almost entirely on personal injury and insurance contract dispute actions. Bob truly enjoys representing people who have been injured by the carelessness of another or who have suffered a loss covered by insurance, only to find that the insurance company is much happier to collect premiums than to pay for losses. Among representing personal losses, Bob also represents people with property damages, from homeowner’s losses to complex business losses involving coverage issues.

In addition to the practice of law, Bob has a strong commitment to his community. He is active and has served on several committees and volunteer boards, including but not limited to his church, Homeowner’s Association, The Masonic Home of Indiana and as President of the Hamilton East Library Board for 6 years. The Masonic Fraternity has been a large part of his life as well. Bob is a Past Master of Mystic Tie Lodge no. 398, A Past Commander-in-Chief of the Indianapolis Valley of the Scottish Rite and a 33rd Degree Mason, in addition to holding numerous affiliated degrees and honors. He and his wife, Lisa, share four children and have supported them in their varying and numerous activities.

Bob is licensed to practice in all state and federal courts in the state of Indiana. His professional memberships include the Indiana Bar Association, the Indianapolis Bar Association and the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association.
